مطالبه عمومی برای برخورد قاطع‌ تر با اراذل و اوباش در سطح شهر تهران بار دیگر به اوج خود رسیده است،بسیاری از شهروندان،با ابراز نگرانی از افزایش حملات خشونت‌ آمیز اراذل و اوباش در اماکن عمومی و کسب‌ و کارهای محلی خواهان اجرای طرح‌ های هدفمندتر از سوی پلیس برای شناسایی و بازداشت سریع عناصر ناامن‌کننده جامعه هستند.

شهروندان به‌ ویژه در محله‌ های پرتردد و دارای سابقه درگیری‌ های خیابانی،از پلیس انتظار دارند که نظارت امنیتی و گشت‌ های پلیسی به‌ شکل مستمر و محسوس تقویت شود.

سرهنگ سعید راستی معاون مبارزه با شرارت پلیس امنیت عمومی فراجا از دستگیری نفر اصلی این پرونده خبر داد و گفت:پیگیری های پلیسی برای دستگیری سایر اعضا در حال انجام است و تمامی نفرات حاضر در صحنه درگیری دستگیر خواهند شد.

افکار عمومی خواستار اصلاح و تسریع در روند رسیدگی قضایی به چنین پرونده‌ هایی هستند تا ضمن بازدارندگی واقعی،احساس امنیت میان کسبه و شهروندان تقویت شود.مردم معتقدند تکرار چنین صحنه‌ هایی،نه‌ تنها امنیت روانی شهروندان را هدف قرار می‌دهد،بلکه چهره پایتخت را نیز مخدوش می‌کند

از همین‌ رو،خواسته عمومی،برخورد بی‌ تعارف،علنی مقتدرانه و بدون مماشات با اراذل و اوباش،خصوصاً در مواردی است که از سلاح سرد برای ارعاب یا مجروح‌ کردن مردم استفاده می‌شود.
